DELINEATORS

Delineators are designed to identify the side of the road surface for motorists.  This is especially important at night and when it's raining.  Some states use steel delineators but they do more damage to vehicles and require road crews to come out more often to straighten or replace the damaged posts.  Because of the safety concerns with sending road crews out to repair delineators and the associated costs, flexible markers have grown in popularity with many states.
